Vmoto is an Australian brand, it’s head office is based in Australia and it is an AXS-listed company. Manufacturing plant for export market is based in Nanjing China. Over the past 20 years, Vmoto has been R&D, manufacturing and supplying pure electric 2 wheelers under Vmoto to over 65 countries and 86 markets. Vmoto design and research center is located in Italy. Vmoto is the official supplier of Ducati brand EV scooters and partners with famous auto design company Pininfarina.
Vmoto signs a very important sponsorship agreement with Ducati Corse as the official electric scooter supplier for the Ducati Corse Team in the MotoGP World Championship and the Superbike World Championship for the 2022-2023 seasons.
All Ducati riders, including the technical team, will ride in the paddock on our 100% electric CPX scooters. Looking at three champions like Francesco Bagnaia, Jack Miller and Michele Pirro moving around on our scooters, once again confirms the position of our premium brand as the leading player in urban mobility. Mr. Perera is currently the Managing Director of WindForce PLC, which is the largest renewable energy developer in Sri Lanka. WindForce own and operate 500MW of wind, solar and mini hydro power plants in Sri Lanka and overseas.
Mr. Perera began his career at Lanka Transformers Limited, the largest private-sector power generation company in Sri Lanka. He worked for over a decade at various managerial levels, from Design Engineer to Group Business Development Manager.
A Fellow of the Institute of Engineering and Technology, UK, Mr. Perera graduated with firstclass honours in Electrical Engineering from the University of Moratuwa. Mr. Perera also holds a MEng from the University of Moratuwa.
Chaminda Perera has 20+ years of experience in the automotive sector and he is the Cofounder of Deranya (Private) Limited sole distributor of CASE IH AG farm equipment’s in Sri Lanka and He is on the board of Energy Hub (Pvt) Ltd. He was a director at Associated Motorways (Private) Limited, CEO Ideal Motors & Ideal 2W (Pvt) Ltd, CEO of Chandra Senanayake Holdings (Automotive Sector) and CEO of Regency Automotive Sector subsidiary of IWS Holdings. During his automotive tenure, he was responsible for brands such as Jaguar, Porsche, Volvo, Proton, GM, SsangYong, Piaggio, Renault, New Holland tractors, Yamaha Leisure, Yamaha Generators, Castrol Lubricants and Mahindra & Mahindra.
He also spent a brief time with airline industry working for British Airways in Colombo. At the business chamber, he is the former President of Sri Lanka China Business Council. Studied at St. Joseph’s College Colombo and holds a Higher National Diploma in Business Administration from Drake Business College in NY USA.
Mr. Hussain holds a degree in Science from the University of Melbourne, and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Mr. Hussain currently serves as an Executive Director of Akbar Brothers (Pvt) Ltd, and its subsidiaries. Akbar Brothers is Sri Lanka’s largest exporter of Ceylon Tea to the international market and has diversified interests in the areas of pharmaceuticals, import trading, renewable energy, property management, manufacturing, hospitality, agriculture and environmental control. Hussain has spearheaded the Group’s ventures into the avenues of solar power, hospitality and agriculture amongst others. He was honoured as one of the New Energy Leaders by the Asian Development Bank in 2018 for his work in the renewable energy space.
Parthiva Hirdaramani joined the Board of Directors of the Hirdaramani Group in 2021. He oversees the functions of LICC Jeans our retail brand. The Hirdaramani Group owns apparel manufacturing facilities across Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Vietnam and Ethiopia. Parthiva was educated at Harrow School in the UK and holds a BA Degree from the University of Miami, Florida, USA.
Lasith Wimalasena was appointed the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of WindForce in September 2020. Lasith joined WindForce in the capacity of Chief Operating Officer of in August 2013. He has acquired over 24 years of professional experience and brings in expertise in large-scale project management skills in the power sector and in manufacturing environments. He commenced his career at LTL Transformers/ LTL Galvanizers Ltd in 1996.
Up until joining WIND in 2013 he held multiple managerial roles in several businesses within the LTL Group of companies. Lasith held the position of Project Manager at LTL Projects, an Engineering Project management company and overlooked two key projects. The LTL Group During his tenure within the LTL Group Lasith has played key roles in implementing several productivity improvement projects and in implementing ISO-certified Quality Management Systems. He holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) Honours Degree with specialisation in Chemistry from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka.
Mayhan De Silva has over 20 years of experience in the automotive industry. Previously having been the After Sales Manager for Regency Automotive (Pvt) Ltd, Euro Cars (Pvt) Ltd and Swedish Cars subsidiary of IWS Holdings (Pvt) Ltd; and the After Sales Manager and Manager Pre-Owned Vehicle Sales for Land Rover / Range Rover in Sri Lanka. During his tenure he was responsible for brands such as Jaguar, Porsche, Daewoo, Volvo and Sang Yong. He received his education at St. Benedict’s College and holds a Diploma in Automotive Engineering from Automotive Engineering at German Technical Training Institute.
Sahan Fernando has 22 + years of experience in the automotive sector. He was a Parts Sales Manager at Associated Motorways Pvt Ltd, Parts Sales Manager at Diesel and Motor Engineering PLC ,3S Branch Manager United Motors Lanka PLC, National Sales Manager Indra Motor Spares Pvt Ltd and Branch in charge at Saleh Al-Hamad Almana Co. Doha Qatar. During his automotive tenure he was responsible for Genuine Spare Parts brands such as Mitsubishi, Nissan, Tata, Piaggio, New Holland, Yamaha OBM, Yamaha Generators and Foton. Studied at De-Mazenod College Kandana and hold a B.Sc. (Marketing Management) Special Hons. Degree at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Ordinary Member of Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing.
Harsha Weerasinghe possesses over three years of experience in the electrical engineering industry. This includes one and a half years dedicated to research and development in vehicle electric conversion as part of a project managed by WindForce PLC. Additionally, he has one year of experience serving as an Assistant Engineer at the 20MW Seguwantivu and Vidatamunai wind power farm, also owned by WindForce PLC. Harsha has recently joined Satva Automotive (Pvt) Ltd as an Electrical Engineer, focusing on the development and problem-solving initiatives related to electric vehicles (EVs)
